Heavy rain flooded the pool — clear again in about 2 days

We got so much rain the pool flooded. The water went green and murky fast. I snapped a few pics while it still looked rough (July 3).

Half the pool is edged in concrete; the other half sits against natural grass. When the grass side overflowed in that rain, dirt washed in from the lawn — that’s where the murk came from.

Here’s what I did to get it clear again in about two days:

1. Ran the pump 24×7 and bumped the speed from 1650 to 2250 RPM so more water moved through the filter.

2. Two bags of shock — dosed it and let the chlorine do the heavy lifting.

3. Changed the filter every day until the water cleared — a dirty filter slows everything down, so I didn’t wait for a normal swap schedule.

No magic product. Just higher flow, shock, and a clean filter each day until it looked swim-ready again.

If a big rain dumps on your pool, that’s the short version of what worked for me. Owner-DIY, not a service call.
