River Pools Install Info

Hey Everyone! I get many calls about our pool, so below is some info about our River Pools install. We began on Aug 31, 2020 and it ended on Oct 7, 2020. The plan:       How it started: How it ended: The pool, concrete around the pool, retaining wall, and retaining wall lights, and equipment were done by River Pools.  The equipment (left to right) is pump, filter (Pleatco PAP150 ~$70), chlorine ( Pool Frog XL Pro , chlorine pack ~$60) I currently do not use the mineral pack), UV light filter, electrical panel, and 200,000 BTU gas heater.  The heater heats at 3.5 - 4 °  and hour. The cost is about $20-40 per day depending on how cold and how long you run it.  Here are some pics after landscaping. Landscaping done by Backyard Magicians .  The pool is the I30 and holds 7,947 gallons. We have the LED lights and two bubblers on the tanning ledge. I do not have the app/wifi panel controls. During construction we did not hit rock so no extra ch...

Skimmer Basket

My skimmer basket cracked so I needed a new one. I heard from Leslie's Pool Supply they last < 12 months, so I got a bit more out of mine.

I spent the money for one that not only has a handle but is weighted. This has been a good purchase. I like it because on cold days, you don't have to get your hands as wet. I still need to but limited to fingers instead of half my arm.

The weight on it also lets it set better. Even if the pump is off, it sets well in the return.

Another bonus is when you are emptying the basket, the handle makes it easier. Not worth buying it for that alone, but a good bonus.

I'd recommend spending the money on this basket.

UPDATE: One drawback is the skimmer socks at Leslie's do not fit this basket. When I want to use a sock, I have to use the older style basket.
